California State University Long Beach is located a half hour from Los Angeles and Hollywood—the homes of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hollywood Bowl, REDCAT, Nokia Theatre L.A Live, the House of Blues, and many historical jazz clubs. A few miles south of campus is the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, and many other music venues.
The city of Long Beach also has an active year-round jazz scene, featuring numerous all-day-festivals, club caravans, and special artist appearances. The Bob Cole Conservatory of Music is located on the northeast corner of the CSULB campus, adjacent to the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, Martha B. Knoebel Dance Complex, and the Walter Pyramid.
Exit at Palo Verde Ave. Turn right (South) from the off-ramp and continue South approx. 1/2 mile to Atherton St. Turn right (West) on to Atherton and get into the left hand lane. Parking lot 12 entrance located 50 feet past fire station on the South side. The Music Department is on the South side of the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, and on the East side of the Pyramid. Parking pass or metered parking available.
Exit at Palo Verde Ave. Turn left (South) at the bottom of the offramp and continue South approx. 1/2 mile to Atherton St. Turn right (West) on to Atherton and get into the left hand lane. Exit at 7th Street and continue to Studebaker Rd. Merge North (right) and continue approx. 1/4 mile to Atherton. Turn left (West) on to Atherton and continue past Palo Verde. Parking lot 12 entrance located 50 feet past fire station on the South side. The Music Department is on the South side of the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, and on the East side of the Pyramid. Parking pass or metered parking available.
Handicapped spaces are available and are designated by blue paint with the outline of a wheelchair in the center of the stall. Visitors with handicapped plates or placard should request a parking permit from Parking Services when visiting the campus.
