Undergraduate Advising

Academic Advising services are available to current CSULB students. The services offered are geared to help support academic planning, prepare for upcoming registration and graduation. It's important that students meet with their advisor each semester in order to make sure they are on track with their degree.

Academic Advising Tools- Current Theatre Students

In addition to your advisors, there are several tools available that you will need when planning your academic career at California State University, Long Beach.

It is important to know and understand the requirements of your degree: units, General Education, and Major. This information can be viewed in the Academic Requirements Report (ARR) located in your MyCSULB Student Center. You should regularly review your ARR to make sure you are on track to earn your degree. Before having an advising appointment, be sure that you have reviewed your ARR so you know what requirements are needed and so you are prepared to discuss this with your advisor. Information and video tutorials on how to read your ARR are helpful.

You should also review the University catalog where you will find program requirements and curriculum guides in addition to the Academic Requirements Report to be sure you are on the right academic path. The program requirements and curriculum guides are created by the University based on the current catalog year. Be sure to consult your Academic Requirements report in your My CSULB Student Center before and after registering for classes each semester to track your academic progress.

CSULB’s  General Education program is a group of diverse courses and requirements that all students must fulfill before graduation to ensure they have received a well-rounded education.
