Free Support via Text
Text BEACH to 741741 for free support to reduce stress
During challenging times, some students, faculty, staff, and learners may be struggling with feelings of isolation, anxiety or depression. Several support services are available to our campus community and posted on the Beach Wellness web page.
The Beach Community members have access to a free text support service at their fingertips any time, day or night. We have partnered with the Crisis Text Line® to provide access to free, 24/7 support during this stressful time via a medium that most people use and trust: texting.
By texting “BEACH” to 741741, participants will connect to a trained crisis volunteer, who will introduce themselves, reflect on what you’ve typed, and invite you to share at your own pace. Text responders are there for support, and to help you sort through your feelings by asking questions, empathizing, and actively listening.
Please know you need not be in crisis to use this service for support.
All text conversations are private and secure, with a goal of helping you move from a stressful moment to a calmer place.
Text responders may offer other resources you may find helpful. Please note that HIPAA compliance policies do apply to using this service, and patient information should not be included in any texts.
Students can also get support from Counseling and Psychological Services and from their Peer Programs, Beach Buddy peer mentoring program and Project OCEAN that are available to support students' mental health and wellness at the BEACH.
Faculty & Staff Assistance Program (FSAP)*, also known as FSAP, is a free, confidential resource to help CSULB faculty and staff resolve personal, family, or work-related problems before they disrupt your life. Services directly provided by FSAP are available only by appointment at no cost.
Take care and please visit the Beach Wellness website to keep learning about all the resources we have available to our Beach family.
