Become a Peer Beach Guide

The First-Year Beach Connections (FYBC) program is designed to give first-year students (freshmen) an opportunity to meet other students, explore campus resources, get involved in campus life, and eConnect with Peer Beach Guides who will help them navigate their first semester at The Beach.

Peer Beach Guides Will

  • Support a community of approximately 40-90 first-year students and be responsible for facilitating virtual group meetings and offering student drop-in times to connect.
  • Make a time commitment of 10-15 hours per week and will have support throughout the semester to ensure they have the tools to be successful.
  • Attend orientation and training prior to the start of the Fall semester.

Being a Peer Beach Guide

  • Is an incredible opportunity for those who wish to make a direct impact on students' lives.
  • Will give you an opportunity to contribute to first-time college students’ sense of belonging as you provide direct support to them.
  • Will give you an opportunity to share all of the amazing services and resources the university offers and why you love The Beach.
  • Will provide you professional development, individually and as part of a team.
