Role of Staff Council
What does Staff Council do? Staff Council has multiple functions:
- Plans staff professional development opportunities and social events for networking, skill-building, support, and socializing.
- Provides a platform for sharing important campus updates and opportunities for staff at open monthly meetings or via email listserv. Want to make an announcement at a meeting or share some news for staff? Let us know and we'll add you to our monthly meeting agenda. Contact us at staff-council@csulb.edu.
- Maintains close relations with the campus Human Resources department and other units to advise on issues not covered by collective bargaining.
- Facilitates elections and/or assists with appointments to important, prestigious committees such as executive search committees, Student Fee Advisory Committee, Distinguished Alumni Nomination Committee, University Resource Council, International Education Committee, etc.
- Supports the CSULB mission in "action for the public good" through charity events and community engagement.
