A Return to the Community

As part of the credentialing process for elementary teachers, Science Education faculty support future teacher development by creating opportunities to 'practice' teaching science in our local community. These opportunities to work with kids as part of the SCED 475 (Science Teaching Methods) course were curtailed due to the COVID pandemic but have now thankfully returned to the syllabus.

We are grateful to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Long Beach and Kettering Elementary School for welcoming CSULB students into their learning spaces, and giving our future elementary teachers a chance to see how kids engage with science first-hand.
