  • CSULB Named In Money's 2024 Five-Star Best Colleges  - With a focus on above-average graduation rates, Money scored colleges in three areas: quality, affordability and future earning potential. These data points take into account important factors like Money's unique calculation of the net price of a degree, average borrowing rates, median earnings and four "value add" calculations measuring a school's actual performance against its predicted performance based on its student body. Money's 2024 Five-Star Best Colleges list includes California State University, Long Beach.
  • CSULB Pledges to Elevate Black Student Success Initiatives - Cal State Long Beach has established its inaugural Black Excellence Collegium and Black Student Success initiatives, responding to the urgent needs of its Black student population. In June 2023, the CSU Chancellor’s Office released a report regarding the persistent decline in Black student enrollment across the CSU system and charged its 23 campuses to respond to the need for enhancing Black Student Success (BSS) and promoting Black excellence. To support campus efforts, the Chancellor’s Office committed $4.6 million in funding. CSULB received $250,000 from the Chancellor’s Office to help elevate Black excellence and spearhead four BSS initiatives to address this urgent priority.
  • Two CPaCE Leaders Awarded the 2023-24 Edward M. McAleer Jr. Award - Two leaders from our College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPaCE) were recently awarded the 2023-24 Edward M. McAleer Jr. Award to recognize their outstanding service. Associate Professor and MSIS Program Director, Mohamed Abdelhamid, was awarded for Faculty Excellence and Innovation. Additionally, Director of Professional and Workforce Development Programs, Angeli Logan, received this honor for Administrator/Staff Excellence and Innovation. Congrats to both Mohamed and Angeli for representing CPaCE.
  • CSULB Class of 2024 Celebrate Commencement  - Angel Stadium in Anaheim was transformed into a final, celebratory stop for Cal State Long Beach graduates, as more than 12,800 students were estimated to have attended Commencement in their black caps, gowns and regalia during five days of ceremonies, May 19-23.
