CSULB Fiber Professor Fafnir Adamites curates exhibition at Angels Gate Cultural Center

CSULB Fiber Professor Fafnir Adamites has curated a show of Fiber Art at Angels Gate Cultural Center entitled Displacing Structures. The exhibition showcases "traditional methods of weaving, netting, lacemaking, and basketry techniques [that] are expanded upon to reveal and embrace personal and shared experiences, queer bodies and the tensions between structure and aberration." The work of the seven artists involved, (including CSULB Professors Adamites as well as Professor Jeanne Medina Le) all tackle the grid, as a way of "investigating place, identity, and belonging." The opening reception is from 2:00 - 4:00pm on June 22, and the exhibition will run through August 17, 2024.
