Dr. Barbara Taylor

Barbara Taylor, Ph.D., has over 45 publications in biology, with specialties in marine physiology, neurophysiology, and the cellular mechanisms of aging. She has received funding awards for research and research training from the NIH, NSF, and DOD as well as state agencies. Dr. Taylor served as the inaugural director of the office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity (2010-16) and interim director of the Honors Program (2014) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Dr. Taylor holds a doctorate degree in zoology from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
Dr. Yuan Yu (Kent) Lee

Kent Lee, Ph.D., also serves as director of the Center for Education in Proteomic Analysis, the Advanced Imaging Center, and the KURE Summer Bridge in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at California State University, Long Beach.
Dr. Lee has publications in molecular biology, with specialties in proteomics, epigenetics, and cancer. He has received funding awards for research and research training from the NIH as well as regional agencies.
Dr. Lee holds a doctorate degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, and proteomics from National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan, and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Curtis Bennett, Ph.D., has over 40 publications in mathematics, with specialties in Combinatorics, Algebra, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. He was the 2010 recipient of the Mathematics Association of America's (MAA's) Deborah and Franklin Tepper Haimo Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching and the MAA's 2011 Carl B. Allendoerfer Award for Expository Excellence. Dr. Bennett served as the Governor of the Southern California-Nevada Section of the MAA from 2016-2019.
Dr. Bennett holds a doctorate degree in mathematics from the University of Chicago.
Dr. Krzysztof (Kris) Slowinski

Kris Slowinski, Ph.D., has over 20 publications in the areas of electrocatalysis, long-range electron transfer, and electrochemistry at nanoscale. He has received funding awards for research and student success programming from NIH, Research Corporation, American Chemical Society, NATO, and Department of Education. In the areas of educational policy and student success, he served as invited panelist at several national and international conferences.
Dr. Slowinski holds a doctorate degree in chemistry from Warsaw University, Poland, completed postdoctoral studies at the University of California, Berkeley, and participated in the Management Development Program, Harvard Graduate School of Education, at Harvard University.
