Psychology Expert Analyzes Why White Supremacy is Attractive to Some People of Color

Marwa Azab, Ph.D., a lecturer in psychology at Cal State Long Beach, spoke with LAist (KPCC) about why some people of color are drawn to white supremacy. Dr. Azab told KPCC that when people of color embrace ideologies or leaders who denigrate them, there’s a kind of Stockholm Syndrome at play, which leads the oppressed person to identify with their oppressor.
