Student Affairs Publishes 2022 – 2023 DEIA Report
Student Affairs recently released the annual Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Report for the 2022 – 2023. This report includes efforts to advance DEIA initiatives throughout Student Affairs and individual contributions from over 15 departments and programs between May 2022 and April 2023.
This year, Student Affairs engaged in deep and substantive work to remove barriers, cultivate the well-being of students, and promote inclusive excellence. Many of the traditional, historical, and ongoing programs and services in Student Affairs have celebrated DEIA for years. This report proudly showcases new, improved, and significant accomplishments we have made towards a more inclusive Beach for our students, our staff/faculty, and our community.
Highlighted in this report is the newly drafted Student Affairs vision statement, mission statement, and collective values as well as the establishment of the first-ever Senior Diversity Officer. Also included are significant achievements in diversifying the management team, performing equity-related human resource actions for 120+ employees, and Student Affairs-wide training opportunities for all staff.
