CSULB Professor Comments on Hate Speech Driving Uptick in LA County Hate Crimes

Lindsay Pérez Huber, a professor in the Social and Cultural Analysis of Education at Cal State Long Beach, spoke with the Precinct Reporter about hate speech and the rise of hate crimes in LA County. Professor Huber finds one connection to hate in the political rhetoric following Trump’s 2015 presidential bid. And while Trump didn't start the hate, he is just "surfing the wave of racism and white supremacy that has existed in this country since its inception."
