Emergency Management Expert Comments on Tracking Social Media Actions to Improve Disaster Response

The American Geophysical Union magazine, EOS, spoke with Shirley Feldmann-Jensen, a lecturer in CSULB's Emergency Services Administration Program, about evaluating social media behavior of people on the island of Tonga after last year's volcanic eruption.  Feldmann-Jensen said it is important to evaluate social media to know what people actually do, rather than what they report they do so education and preparation for such events can be improved.
