What to Expect


Parking


Get ready for the ceremony! 90 minutes before each start time (7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 6:00 PM), the parking lots will open, and the Home Plate Gate will offer a festive atmosphere. Shop for gifts and flowers, snap photos with Elbee, and enjoy music from CSULB alum DJ B Rokk. PARKING IS FREE!

Graduates


Graduates must check in 60-90 minutes before their ceremony. They will show their student ID, driver's license, or government-issued ID at the check-in tables outside Gate #4 to receive their GradPasses. After checking in, they will enter the courtyard and line up with their department for the processional. Check the diagram below for Gate #4 check-in location.

NOTE: Due to the dirt track, uneven stadium surface, and steep stairs to seating, please wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes.

Guests


Witness your graduate's special moment! Up to 12 guests per graduate can enjoy stadium seating with excellent views of the stage and watch their graduate appear on the scoreboard jumbotron during the processional. (Stage location and seating map below).

Celebrate this momentous occasion by remaining seated for the entire 1.5-2 hour ceremony. Enjoy the faculty processional, the graduates' joyous entry, the arrival of university leaders, inspiring speakers, the recognition of each graduate on stage, and the symbolic conferral of degrees and tassel turning, marking their official entry into the CSULB alumni community.

As a time-honored tradition, President Conoley and the Provost will confer degrees at the end of each ceremony. Graduates will rise as their degrees are conferred and celebrate together by moving their tassels, officially becoming CSULB alumni!

Conclusion of Ceremony


At the conclusion of the 1.5-2 hour ceremony, the newly presented CSULB alumni will be invited to gather with their friends, families, and guests outside of Home Plate and enjoy the music of DJ B Rokk with fellow grads, friends, guests, family members, and department faculty members and celebrate their momentous achievement.
