Career Profiles: Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies
Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies asserts that gender and sexuality are fundamental categories of social organization and power that are inseparable from race, ethnicity, class, nationality, and other categories of difference. The field creates and promotes research and teaching that challenges racism, sexism, and related bigotries that undermine the possibility for all populations to exist free from discrimination, deprivation, hostility, violence and marginalization. Students hold positions in business, government, and the non-profit sector where they actively work to create positive changes in our society. Some students also go on for additional education in law, social services, public policy, medicine and education.
