CSULB Department of Liberal Studies
Students interested in the field of Liberal Studies are granted the opportunity to satisfy the undergraduate academic requirements for the California Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential )designed for teaching in a self-contained classroom, primarily kindergarten through sixth grade). The Liberal Studies major is the study of liberal arts education in which it equips students with the knowledge of academic subjects such as: Mathematics, Literature, and Social Physical Sciences so that they have the ability to be competent educators. Individuals in this field possess strong active listening, writing, critical thinking and speaking skills. Liberal studies is also the area of choice for the undergraduate individuals who seek rich, non-specialized, multidisciplinary course of studies as a foundation for a wide range of academic and career opportunities.
