CSULB ranked No. 2 master’s-level university in the nation
Cal State Long Beach is ranked as the No. 2 master’s-level university in the nation, according to Washington Monthly’s annual College Guide and Rankings released this week. For the master’s-level university rankings, the publication assessed institutions across the country that, in addition to undergraduate programs, award a significant number of master’s degrees but few doctoral degrees, sometimes referred to as comprehensive universities.
Washington Monthly’s methodology differs from other higher education rankings in that their assessment of universities is focused on contributions to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research, and promotion of public service.
In another independent ranking by Washington Monthly, Cal State Long Beach was ranked No. 1 in the Western United States for best value.
