EOP Summer Bridge Program

All newly admitted EOP first-year students are required to participate in the EOP Summer Bridge Program in July.

The EOP Summer Bridge Program is designed to help students bridge the gap between high school and college through intentional programming and enrichment activities. Students will be able to participate in activities that help them learn about the campus culture, EOP history, leadership development, financial aid, and more. Summer Bridge is also a great way for students to engage and network with other EOP students and build meaningful connections prior to the start of the school year. For more information about Summer Bridge go to the frequently asked questions page.

We have two options for students to participate in: Summer Bridge Residential and Summer Bridge Commuter.

EOP Summer Bridge Program Commuter Option:
Session 1: July 2025, Dates TBA
EOP SBP Commuter is not a residential experience and does not require student to stay on the dorms during the week of the program. Students will participate in this program each day by commuting to campus each day of the program.

EOP Summer Bridge Program Residential Option:
Session 1: July 2025, Dates TBA
Session 2: July 2025, Dates TBA
During the Summer Bridge Residential experience, students will live on-campus in the residence halls (dorms) and participate in activities that help them learn about the campus culture throughout the week.

Transfer Summer Bridge Program (TSBP)
In Person: August 2025, Dates TBA
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Transfer Summer Bridge Program (TSBP) is a three-day orientation program for EOP’s transfer cohort. Students will have the opportunity to attend an in-person and virtual sessions. The program is designed for students to have a smooth transition to CSULB. Workshops that will address this transition include a discussion on imposter syndrome, post graduate outreach, and accessibility to student programs that develop skills for postgraduate work. A GWAR presentation will explain what they can expect when taking the GPE. University Technology Services will highlight the use of the Single Sign On (SSO), Canvas, and the EOP appointment process. Students will have an opportunity to meet new transfer students and peer mentors to build a student network before starting CSULB.
