Educational Talent Search (ETS) is a free, federally-funded program housed at California State University, Long Beach since 1977.
The purpose of ETS is to identify, select and assist low-income and potential first-generation students to continue in and to graduate from secondary school and enroll in a post secondary educational program. ETS targets specific, local schools to locate students who may require extra assistance in taking steps toward seeking higher education. Resources for scholarships and financial aid and useful links to college planning and career planning sites are all here to help both students and parents. CSULB is in compliance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI and VII), Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and the American Disabilities Act of 1990, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, sex, handicap, or age in any of its policies, procedures, or practices; nor does CSULB discriminate on the basis of marital status or sexual orientation. This nondiscriminatory policy covers all CSULB programs and activities, including employment. ETS is funded entirely by the U.S. Department of Education from 2016-2021 in the amount of $2,930,042. ETS South Bay is also funded entirely by the U.S. Department of Education from 2016-2021 in the amount of $1,312,513.
