Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
The ATI TEAS, or Test of Essential Academic Skills, is designed specifically to assess a student's preparedness entering the health science fields. The ATI TEAS test is comprised of 170 questions set up in a multiple-choice format with four-option answers. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills you will need to perform in class in the areas of: Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage.
The TEAS is offered online proctored remotely (at-home). Take the exam from home (or other desired location) via an online remote proctor.

A week before your exam, you will be receiving important steps in order to take the remote version of the ATI TEAS. You will also receive your TEAS Assessment ID 24 hours before the exam via email. If you do not have an Assessment ID, please email DSA-TEAS-Testing@csulb.edu
The exam will start promptly at your scheduled appointment time. Please ensure to start checking-in at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to allow enough time for the check-in process (may take up to 30 minutes during peak testing periods). If you do not start the exam within 15 minutes of the official start time, you will not be able to test. Exams will not be refunded or rescheduled due to late arrival.
Non-compliance with the following may invalidate your test attempt.
- Make sure you are using a fully charged or plugged-in laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and microphone.
- Make sure you have Google Chrome and the Google Chrome Extension on your device. You will not be able to take the remote version of the ATI TEAS Exam with any other browser.
- Must present non-expired government-issued photo ID at time of check in. NO EXCEPTIONS
- Find a well-lit space and be ready for a room scan prior to the assessment.
- Position your webcam from your shoulders up so that your face is fully visible.
- Prepare one piece of blank paper to be used during the exam. Please destroy the paper upon completion.
- Ensure that your internet speed is at least 0.5 - 1 Mbps. You can test your internet speed using www.speedtest.net
- Basic 4 function calculator is accessible on screen.
Accommodations may be available to individuals with documented disabilities pursuant to the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Accommodations must be requested and granted before scheduling an appointment to take the TEAS exam. To be considered for Accommodations, please send an email with all appropriate documentation and your specific accommodation request to DSA-TEAS-Testing@csulb.edu at least 30 days prior to testing/signing up for a testing date. Once your request gets granted, please proceed and register for your desired testing date.
By clicking the “Register” button on the ATI website, you agree to test on the selected date. You are responsible for repaying and rescheduling for a new test in the event that you are unable to attend on your scheduled date. There are no refunds.

A parking permit is required on campus at all times. Upon arrival to campus, be prepared to purchase a daily parking permit. Your license plate number (or VIN) is required to purchase a permit.
