Laboratory
Our laboratory is equipped to perform many basic laboratory tests. Routine in-house tests are free for students. If a sample is sent to an off-campus laboratory, the student is charged a reduced rate. Lab tests not performed in house are sent out to an outside laboratory at a reduced rate charged to our students.
Examples of some free lab tests include:
- Pregnancy tests
- Strep throat cultures
- Complete blood count
- Urinalysis
- Mononucleosis test
Procedure for Lab Tests
A clinician or nurse must order the lab test. If a payment is required, then the student will go to the cashier to pay for the test(s). We accept debit/credit cards and cash. After paying, the student will go to the lab and provide the receipt at the window. The lab technician will provide directions for sample collection and/or a phlebotomist may collect a blood sample. Blood samples are only collected up until 4:00 p.m.
The turnaround time for results can vary based on the type of lab test. Results will be provided as soon as they are available.
