Dedication to Safety
The goal of the Risk Management Committee is to review, develop, and maintain policies and practices that promote a safe and healthy workplace for all Beach Shops employees, customers, and guests. The Risk Management Committee has three primary objectives. The first is to mitigate any workplace risk by ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and CSU regulatory standards. The second objective is to develop and maintain safety and health training programs that address the unique needs of our various operations. The third objective is to assess the financial impact of risk mitigation and to strategize opportunities to maximize corporate wide outcomes.
Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
Beach Shops is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy working environment for staff, students, and the general public. To help achieve this goal, Beach Shops will promote a comprehensive Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) that integrates collaborative and cooperative efforts by the entire Beach Shops community to identify and eliminate unsafe conditions and practices, to control health hazards, and to comply fully with all applicable safety and health regulations.
Facility Inspection Forms
Facility audits are performed semiannually in accordance with the IIPP standards. Managers will inspect and take direct and preventative actions to eliminate unsafe conditions in the workplace.
All Bookstore, Dining, and Corporate audits are due before the end of the months of April and October of each calendar year.
The Coronavirus Pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on our organization. We have not been immune to the challenges our country and the world has faced, in providing efforts and best practices to mitigate risk. Below are highlights of our efforts to ensure the safety of our employees, customers, and guests. It includes a detailed COVID Response Plan, and links to efforts in conjunction with our CSU campus.
To ensure a safe work environment we require that Beach Shops employees report confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. Beach Shops employees are required to complete this form if:

VIEW REPORT COVID-19 CASE
Upon receipt of this form, a member of the Beach Shops Human Resources team will contact you to gather additional information to assist with an initial exposure investigation. All employees who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to quarantine for a minimum of 24 hours from the onset of symptoms. Employees who are asymptomatic or who no longer have a fever without the use of medication and have mild and improving symptoms, may be cleared to return to work after 24 hours. Furthermore, if symptoms were present a mask must be worn for 10 days from symptom onset or from day of positive result. If symptoms were not present, a mask must be worn for 10 days from day of positive result.
Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP)
The purpose of the WVPP is to have a clearly understood, accessible, and actionable policy to respond quickly to episodes of workplace violence. We refuse to tolerate any form of violence in the workplace and will make every effort to prevent violent incidents from occurring.

The supervisor receiving a report of workplace violence must complete these forms with as much detail as possible to support an investigation. Please complete and return to Human Resources within 24 hours or the next business day.
