Film student Cathy Bui won the nationwide Lamps Plus “Light What You Love” contest with her inspirational video based on her family and friends. She submitted her video, which depicts her family and friends in an illuminated living room, on Instagram; it was her interpretation of lighting the things she loves.

Bui, a junior from Fountain Valley, narrates the importance of the people in her life and their impact. A connection is made to the lighting of the living room. She, along with her parents, grandparents and friends, appear in the video.

Bui wrote, directed and edited the video over two days. She collaborated with Bobby Kelley, her director of photography, and used a pocket cinema 4K camera.

The 3.1-mile route begins at the University Student Union and ends at the LifeFit Center near the College of Health and Human Sciences building.

The LifeFit Three Mile Wellness Walk takes walkers to Brotman Hall and past the Walter Pyramid to Carpenter Performing Arts Center and alongside the soccer field and engineering buildings. It eventually winds around to the LifeFit Center.
