Jennifer Richardson
Jennifer Richardson is a theatre artist who teaches, performs and directs. She has been acting on stages from Texas to Los Angeles for 40 years, mostly in musicals. Her recent credits include Helen in Fun Home at Chance Theatre and Fräulein Schneider in Cabaret at CSULB. Recent director credits include A Mini-Musical Medley video production at CSULB, Cabaret assisting Kari Hayter at CSULB, Little Women: The Broadway Musical at Westchester Playhouse, Our Lady of the Tortilla assisting Dona Roman at Sul Ross State University and Ugly Duckling: A Musical Fable at CSULB Affinity Series. In addition to singing and dancing, Jennifer is an accomplished cellist, playing on stages all over Los Angeles for singers, in bands, in musicals and with her chamber music trio The Three Graces at events in the Los Angeles area.
Jennifer trained extensively with Gary Imhoff in his Musical Artists’ Workshops in Los Angeles and received her MFA in Acting and Performance Pedagogy from California State University Long Beach. She is also a graduate of the HB Studio Teacher Training Lab with Carol Rosenfeld.
Jennifer has been teaching at CSULB since 2016. She specializes in Uta Hagen and Musical Theatre Scene Study acting. She also teaches Active Analysis, Scene Study, Writing, Professional Skills for the Theatre Artist, and Crew classes. She is an LGBTQ+ and environmental justice advocate. www.jenniferleerichardson.com
