Francesca Jandasek
Francesca Jandasek, Part-time Lecturer, received her MFA in Dance from CSULB. She teaches Viewing Dance and has also taught Intro to Modern, Intermediate Ballet, and Beginning Jazz.
Francesca holds a BA from Goucher College in Spanish and International/ Intercultural Studies and an MFA from California State University, Long Beach in Dance.
Francesca Jandasek, born in Namibia, Africa from Czech Parents, is an Interdisciplinary Choreographer/Artist based in Los Angeles, who creates using a synthesis of movement, music/sound, theater, film and visual art. Her work investigates personal topics that are complex, multifaceted, and full of paradox through a combination of artistic disciplines. Her final product as a choreographic artist results in movement-based interdisciplinary performance. Her goal in both her creative work and her teaching is to create powerful shared artistic experiences while simultaneously encouraging participants to consider disparate points of view as a jumping off point for dialogue.
Francesca Jandasek has worked with dance, theater, and film companies, schools and universities, and has received awards and fellowships for her choreography, music, and visual art. Francesca Jandasek has taught and performed internationally (USA -New York, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Russia, Canada, India, Bangladesh, Czech Republic and Argentina) with CityDance Ensemble, Dakshina Dance Company, Sharna Fabiano Tango Company, BareDances Collaborations, and Synetic Theater, among others.
