Professor Notes Inequity of Cash Bail

Christine Scott-Hayward, professor and director of the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice, and Emergency Management spoke with LAist about Los Angeles County ending cash bail for less serious crimes. Professor Scott-Hayward said the system was unfair because the poor are less likely able to pay bail and may remain in jail for long periods of time before trial.
