Political Science Instructor Surmises Why Senator Butler Won't Run for a Full Term

Matt Lesenyie, an assistant professor of political science in the College of Liberal Arts, spoke with the Los Angeles Times about reasons why Laphonza Butler may have decided not to run for the Senate in the upcoming election. Lesenyie said it would have been an "uphill battle" for her and, based on his research, found that in most cases appointees wind up losing in the election.
