Elections expert explains why Trump campaigned in California

Matt Lesenyie, assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at Cal State Long Beach, spoke with Spectrum News1 about why former President Donald Trump campaigned in California, a state he is unlikely to win in 2024. Lesenyie said the campaign stop was likely to cast a spotlight on some of the more competitive districts and energize the Republican base.
