Bruno Pernet, professor of biological sciences at Cal State Long Beach, spoke with the Los Angeles Times about the thousands of by-the-wind-sailors, or Velella velella jellyfish, washing ashore on the beaches of Southern California. Professor Pernet said the small jellyfish float on the surface of the ocean and travel wherever the wind blows them. Dr. Pernet also interviewed with CNN, Inside Edition, and KTLA Los Angeles.
