Geography Associate Professor Talks About SoCal Drought

Lily House-Peters, an associate professor in Cal State Long Beach’s geology department, spoke with reporters from the Southern California News Group and appeared in a number of their publications, including the Orange County Register. The article was about the Metropolitan Water District’s Board of Directors declaring a regional drought emergency and what that means for Southern California. Professor House-Peters said that it is time to look into water conservation measures and ways to become more drought resilient since there is a possibility of the region moving into a fourth year of below average rainfall.
