CSULB Studies Impact of Sharks on Coastal Economies

Cal State Long Beach shark, economics, and tourism researchers spoke with CBS news about the impact on local economies when white sharks inhabit nearby coastal waters. Assistant professors Dede Long (Economics) and Katie Dudley (Recreation and Leisure Studies) along with Shark Lab Director, Professor Chris Lowe are hoping to create a model where a thriving tourism business can exist next to a thriving juvenile white shark population.
