CSULB Associate Professor Ted Stankowich and his research team published in the American Journal of Biological Anthropology their findings of why the fur coat of baby primates is different than that of their adult parents. The research indicates that the distinct color may help protect the baby from infanticide should a male from outside the troop become dominent.
