CSULB Academics Discuss Economic State of Long Beach’s Latino Community

Economics chair, Professor Seiji Steimetz, and Associate Professor of Chicano and Latino Studies, Juan Benitez, appeared at a roundtable with Mayor Robert Garcia and others to discuss the post-pandemic economic struggles of the city’s Latino community. The meeting, covered by the Long Beach Press-Telegram, discussed the research work planned by CSULB to survey economic impact to the Latino community by the pandemic. The results of the survey will be released in a report at the Latino Economic Summit later this year.
