Rowan Arias
Peer Mentor
"Hi! My name is Rowan I am a 4th year Molecular Cellular Biology and Physiology student, or just Molec Cell, it's easier to say, I am also first generation and Hispanic. A bit about myself is that I am extremely passionate, about many things, not just my hobbies; gaming, reading, and writing, but also what I am studying. Many people say that I don't talk very much but if anyone mentions one of my passions I won't be able to stop talking. This is my second years working for MAPS and everyday I am reminded that I love helping others create a future they are proud of."
Alissa Bauer
Peer Mentor
"Hello! My name is Alissa Bauer and I am a fourth-year Liberal Studies major from Merced, California. I enjoy outdoor activities and exploring new places. Some of my favorite activities include hiking, skiing, boating, and traveling with my family. As a MAPS peer mentor, I am excited to connect with students and support them in their academic and personal journeys."
Maxine Ha
Peer Mentor
"My name is Maxine Ha, and I am a senior studying Finance at CSULB. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, but I currently live part-time in Long Beach for college. I often spend weekends with my family back home. For hobbies, I am a homebody who prefers staying in. I enjoy reading and spending time with my three dogs. If I do go out, I usually visit Target or watch a movie. As a MAPS peer mentor, I am most looking forward to helping students adjust to college and find the resources they need. As a transfer student and a first-generation American, I understand that adjusting to school can take time. If you have questions or want to chat, please visit the MAPS center. I look forward to meeting you all!"
