Institutional Research & Analytics Provides Support Services for Campus Initiatives
From Data Fellows to Program Review, the office of Institutional Research and Analytics provides data services supporting initiatives and programs across campus.
CSULB has administered The Freshman Survey since 2013. From 2013-2016, the survey was administered during SOAR (summer) via paper, and from 2017 on, it has been administered online in September.
The Freshman Survey is about California State University, Long Beach students that have no prior postsecondary experience attending any institution for the first time at the undergraduate level who completed The Freshman Survey.
The survey data can be viewed by Demographic Characteristics at entry (Sex, Minority Status, First-Generation Status and Race/Ethnicity).
The Graduate Entry and Exit Survey are internal surveys administered to better understand the experience, needs, and plans of CSULB’s master’s and doctoral students. Topics covered include enrolling at CSULB, graduate studies experiences, financing graduate school, post-graduation plans, health and wellbeing, and campus climate.
Survey responses are aggregated to ensure confidentiality, and where feasible, results are disaggregated by college of the respondent’s graduate program.
