Study Abroad
The George L. Graziadio Center for Italian Studies offers a variety of study abroad options for undergraduate and graduate students at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). Whether you would like to go abroad for one month, one semester, or a full academic year, you will be sure to find the program that is right for you.
Ideal for students who want to study abroad in Italy over the summer, Campus L’Infinito offers an excellent one-month program in Italian language and culture in the beautiful town of Recanati, Italy. Since our collaboration with Campus L’Infinito began, our students have been greatly impressed with the quality of instruction and the immersive language learning environment that Recanati provides. Regarding her study abroad experience in Recanati, Italian MA student Yubeli Urrea said:
“Overall the best part of my study abroad experience was meeting and learning from the instructors at Campus L’Infinito. They were all extremely dedicated to their students and were willing to find new and fun ways to teach Italian. The experience was truly unforgettable. Anyone interested in immersing themselves in Italian culture and studying Italian in an environment that is inviting and fun should consider a summer in Recanati, Italy!”
The program dates for summer 2025 are from June 2nd to June 26th & June 30th to July 24th. For more information, please contact Diego Brol Batres at Diego.BrolBatres@csulb.edu and visit the Campus L’Infinito website.
Over the years, the George L. Graziadio Center for Italian Studies has worked closely with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice to create an outstanding study abroad program for students at CSULB. Students can enroll for either 1 or 2 semesters and have a wide range of classes from which to choose. Kiawna Brewster, a recent graduate of the Italian MA Program, said the following about her study abroad experience at Ca’ Foscari:
“My time at Ca’ Foscari definitely enhanced my overall experience in the Italian MA Program at CSULB. I spent my last semester in Venice and was able to make progress in my research by accessing new materials and immersing myself in Ca’ Foscari's rich academic environment. All of my professors were extremely accommodating and willing to work with me. Our collaboration allowed me to refine and develop research that I had started at CSULB—for this I am most grateful. I would definitely recommend this program anyone, since it’s a great opportunity for students to grow, explore a new city, and experience life at an Italian university.”
