Senior BFA students Avana Grayr, Bailey Rehmann, and Chen Yang compete in the IIDA SoCal Student Design Charette, an all day 8 am - 5 pm competition, at Pivot Interiors in Costa Mesa.

Avana’s team was awarded 2nd place and $4,000 to be split amongst her team members (the teams are randomly mixed from area design prgrams). They will be invited to an award ceremony in the beginning of May 2018.

Of the event, Avana said, “It was a lot of fun! It was great interacting with all these students from different programs. Although, it was like cramming 3 weeks of stress into 4.5 hrs... but the outcome was worth it! We should do practice Charette’s in studio! It’s a great bonding experience. Bailey and Chen’s group did such a great job. Both had beautiful renderings and presented so well. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be one of the representatives for our school. It was an honor to be selected. Go Beach!”
