Assignment Type

In CINE, we classify production assignments into two categories: In-Class Assignments & Approved CINE Productions. All other productions are non-CINE approved productions and are not supported by CINE.  

Understanding these classifications will provide clarity on the expectations, requirements, and resources available for your filmmaking process. In-class assignment 

An assignment executed exclusively during scheduled class hours. Here, the filming is confined to class time, providing you an opportunity to learn, experiment, and create within a structured environment. This is perfect for honing your filmmaking skills in a time-efficient and focused setting. In-class use of production equipment and post facilities is dependent on the course and is checked out by the instructor for use during scheduled class hours. 

Approved CINE Production  

An Approved CINE Production is a class assignment that requires filming to be carried out outside of your scheduled class time. This includes both on-campus and off-campus locations. With this type of project, you have more flexibility and time to explore your creative vision, manage your filming schedule and locations, and experience a more realistic taste of professional film production. 

Production & equipment Insurance, On-campus Film Permits, CINE equipment checkouts, and post-production facilities are available for approved productions.  

Non-CINE Approved Production 

These are productions that are not assigned through an CINE course and are not approved by CINE to use any of its resources, such as insurance, equipment, or facilities.
