David Casarrubias-Gonzales

David is on the faculty at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) where he teaches legal research and writing, moot court, and appellate advocacy courses. He has previously coached and competed on multiple nationally ranked moot court teams both at UC Law SF (’18), and CSULB (‘14). He regularly judges moot court competitions at both the regional and national level for both undergraduate and law school programs.

 

David joined CSULB’s Moot Court Alumni Advisory Board to help strengthen the pipeline for diverse Long Beach State students to enter the legal profession. David credits his undergraduate moot court experience as the reason why he went to law school and pursued a career as a litigator. Currently, David is Senior Counsel at Hanson Bridgett LLP where he focuses his practice on public agency litigation with an emphasis on complex matters, class actions, and multi-party litigation. With a background in writs, appeals, and law and motion, David brings invaluable knowledge and a unique perspective to his cases. In state court, David is experienced with the California Government Claims Act and the array of defenses it provides to public agencies. In federal court, David routinely defends special districts, counties, and state departments against various constitutional claims. David was coached by Head Coach Lewis Ringel and Assistant Coach Judy Hails during his time at CSULB, and Head Coach Toni Young during his time at UC Law SF.

Edward "Ted" J. McNamara IV

Ted McNamara, Of Counsel, focuses his practice in civil ligation, corporate and employment law. He represents business owners in a variety of matters including contracts, business transactions, employment suits, and other complex corporate matters.

McNamara is a skilled, business centric litigator who works with clients to develop strategies for approaching complex disputes. He evaluates legal issues and provides counsel on cost-effective strategies to address each matter to best suit the clients' needs.

Andrew Klein

Andrew Klein is a partner at Perkins Coie where he litigates complex intellectual property disputes across the country, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation. Prior to working at Perkins Coie, Andrew externed for Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye of the California Supreme Court and Judge John E. Munter of the complex litigation division in San Francisco Superior Court.

 

Andrew obtained his JD from UC Law San Francisco in 2014 and his BA from CSULB in 2011. At both UC Law SF and CSULB, Andrew participated in moot court. At CSULB in particular, Andrew was a member of the program during the fall 2010 season. He and his partner performed well at regionals, earning a bid to nationals where they were knocked out in the elimination rounds. Andrew has fond memories of his experiences as a mooter and hopes to give back to future generations of mooters.

Aaron Sibley

Aaron Sibley has dedicated his legal career to representing injured plaintiffs in lawsuits. He has extensive experience obtaining full compensation for his clients in all stages of injury claims, from insurance claims through jury trials and appeals. In 2022-2025, Aaron was recognized by his fellow peers as a “Rising Star” in the legal community, a recognition given to the top 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40 in the State of California. He attended California State University, Long Beach from 2007-2011, and competed in the Moot Court program in 2009-2011.

Dillon Westfall

Dillon Westfall is a litigation associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is a member of the Firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations, Media, Entertainment and Technology, and Litigation Practice Groups.

Dillon regularly represents clients, including major multinational corporations, in criminal, regulatory, and internal investigations, with a focus on anti-corruption issues. Dillon has participated in multiple large-scale FCPA investigations and SEC enforcement actions relating to allegations of securities fraud and other violations of the securities laws. In addition, Dillon’s practice focuses on complex federal and state court litigation.

Dillon maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on the fields of immigration and the first amendment. She currently serves on the advisory board for California State University, Long Beach’s Moot Court team.

Dillon earned her Juris Doctor in 2018 from New York University School of Law, where she served as an Executive Articles Editor on Annual Survey of American Law. While at NYU, Dillon served as Vice President of the Media Law Collaborative and worked on a Circuit Court appeal as a member of the Reproductive Justice Clinic. She graduated cum laude from California State University, Long Beach in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics.

Dillon is admitted to practice in the State of New York.

Mindy Vo

Mindy Vo is an associate in the Orange County office of Latham & Watkins and practices in the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department.

Mindy is licensed to practice in both federal and state court and has experience representing public and private companies in complex commercial litigation and securities litigation.

Before joining Latham & Watkins, Mindy clerked for Judge James V. Selna in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, working on a variety of matters including copyright and trademark litigation, multidistrict litigation, consumer class action litigation, complex commercial litigation, and securities litigation.

While in law school, Mindy was the Editor in Chief for the Southern California Law Review, editing two volumes and overseeing publication. Mindy also served as Legal Writing Fellow for first-year law students, and was a board member of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and the Womxn of Color Collective.

Mindy stays active in California State University Long Beach’s Moot Court program by serving as a guest judge and advising student competitors in oral and written appellate advocacy.
