Another successful season of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at the College of Business concluded on April 15th. Since its inception 15 years ago, VITA has consistently served our campus, Long Beach, Orange county, and greater Los Angeles community.

Over 200 students, mentors, & staff attended the 11th Annual SCPD Awards Banquet on May 10, 2019 at The Grand in Long Beach.  Plus over $2,000 raised in SCPD's first Silent Auction. The Awards Banquet presented certificates and medallions to the largest graduating Corporate Mentoring Program (CMP) class to date; including 118 students. 

Sips Cold Brew receives $10,000 for its victory and an additional $40,000 worth of support for their startup — such as office space, and accounting, legal and marketing services.

What an achievement by the VITA 2019 volunteers! College of Business is extremely proud to have such talented students that provide free tax services to the community every year! VITA: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Here are some facts & figures:

Congratulations to the Innovation Challenge 4 Team Finalists! 1. The Battery Effect: Team Leader, Abhishek Basavanna/COE.  Battery Effect offers a mobile application providing locations to dispose of household hazardous waste. 

The 5th annual Road to Supply Chain Excellence event was held on Thursday, February 21, 2019.  This event was presented by CSULB's College of Business and the Operations and Supply Chain Management Advisory Board.

1Q/2019 - Expectations for 2019 

First Short-term study abroad class to the Southeast Asia Region. In January, 2019 the College of Business sent its first short-term study abroad class to Southeast Asia to spend 9 days in Singapore and Vietnam.
