ABOUT THE EVENT
Fashion Forward isn't just about fashion; it marks the start of a journey towards a more inclusive arts education for our city's youth. Ticket sales will support a pilot project by the Museum crafting a new arts curriculum that celebrates diversity and encourages creativity.
With the recent passage of Prop 28, providing much-needed arts funding for public schools, the Museum is teaming up with our long-term teaching partners in LBUSD to provide educational materials. We'll weave Long Beach's cultural heritage into every lesson, drawing from CSULB's vast museum collection to reflect our community's diversity. Each lesson will engage students and resonate with their experiences, fostering a stronger connection to the arts and our community.
"We believe every child deserves a culturally rich arts education," says Paul Baker Prindle, Director of Carolyn Campagna Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum. "Fashion Forward is more than just an event; it's a catalyst for transforming our educational landscape."
