Information Session - Virtual: Changeist

*RESCHEDULED*

Changeist brings together young people outside of school and across neighborhoods to learn a common civic language, engage in dialogue, and build community as they investigate local and global challenges ranging from poverty to environmental issues.

If you are between the ages of 17-26 and are an aspiring teacher, social worker, policy maker, or community leader, gain direct experience empowering Los Angeles middle and high school students as a Team Leader or Youth Empowerment Fellow. These two roles offer a unique opportunity to:

  1. Give youth space to learn and practice civic leadership skills such as public speaking, mobilization, information literacy, media usage, conflict resolution, and team building.
  2. Provide a space for youth to implement local solutions to local problems, so that youth can see how their actions can have a positive impact on the community, setting up the stage for future action.
  3. Provide resources to explore, serve, and reflect on social justice issues.

Come to their info session to learn from former Team Leader and now Changeist Staff member Eli Montana (he, him) who will share information about their organization and details on their two paid roles currently open for Cal State Long Beach students! Students will also be able to meet Changeist Youth Empowerment Fellows building this year’s 2023-24 program!
