CSULB Home Alumni Senior Profiles Senior Profiles Meet the standout students of CSULB in our Senior Profiles. 1 May, 2017 Jacky Bui Although I was so sad in the moment that my reality would not meet my media-driven college expectations, attending CSULB has been a life-changing decision that surpasses any television show/movie portrayal of the college experience. 1 March, 2017 Rachel Guevara My experience at CSULB has been amazingly rewarding. I have met the most wonderful people, experienced many new things, and gained lifelong lessons. When I first came to campus, I had no idea where to start. I felt confused, but one thing I knew for sure - I wanted to seize my opportunities. 17 January, 2017 Ricardo Pulido I obtained my B.A. degree in French and Francophone Studies at CSULB this fall of 2016. I thought a lot about what I wanted to do after obtaining my B.A. and decided that continuing to study the French language was the next path I wanted to take. I am currently working on a novel in French about vampires that I am putting a lot of time and effort in. 24 July, 2016 Agatha Gucyski What I’ve realized is that though these students are smart and very capable of achieving big ambitions, many of them have been told or otherwise believe that they are not capable of troubleshooting through hard problems. 25 May, 2016 Abigail Dominguez My college experience has allowed me to learn about my strengths and weaknesses in and out of the classroom but most of all, I learned that I have a passion to help others who are going through or have a loved one who is going through a serious illness. 26 April, 2016 Peter Velez I am truly grateful for the professors and faculty who dedicate their time in helping all students achieve their dreams. They have taught me that a fulfilling college education is more than a diploma or getting a job offer. A truly enriching educational career is building oneself to be better equipped to make a difference for our community. 10 April, 2016 Kassandra Chhay I have taken a proactive approach in making the most out of my time at the Beach. For the first two years of college I worked as a research assistance on two community based research projects through Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP). 22 March, 2016 Connie Calimbas Even if I face challenges whether it be tomorrow, next year, or in five years, I will continue to keep going and learn from my mistakes. I will find and create my definition of happiness. 29 January, 2016 Devon Stone Coming from a Social Science background, I wasn’t accustomed to studying sciences such as Anatomy and Physiology. Over the course of a year, I endured the discomfort and eventually mastered the material, while adopting a more scientific frame of thinking. 23 December, 2015 Matthew Caswell While I was a Resident Assistant I was given the opportunity to study abroad in Europe. Although it was far away from home I decided to take a semester to see what another part of the world is like. From that experience I caught what some call “the travel bug” and have flown to other parts of the US and Asia. Any chance I get to travel somewhere, I will… 26 October, 2015 Kirsten Tablizo I got involved with as many organizations as possible to maximize my time at CSULB. I even became an officer for the Rotaract Leadership club on campus the summer before my freshmen year and have been an officer ever since. 29 September, 2015 Erica Quiroz Sometimes it’s easy to forget that there is goodness on this planet, but I want to make it easy to remember.
