West Campus Turnaround Reopens November 21
West campus turnaround (the intersection of Beach and West Campus Drives) will reopen November 21 to all through traffic. For updates to CSULB Long Beach Transit routes through the west campus turnaround, please go to our bus and shuttle webpages. Construction in the plaza area continues, so please be aware of all roadwork signs and pedestrians.
Long Beach City Project Reduces Parking Spots on Bellflower Boulevard
All parking spots on Bellflower Boulevard between 7th street and Atherton will be closed for a Long Beach City construction project between November 27, 2017 and February 22, 2018. This project will provide bike lanes on Bellflower Boulevard and connect the street to the City’s larger bike network. It is our understanding that 25 spots on the east side of Bellflower Boulevard between Beach Drive and Atherton will be permanently eliminated. All remaining spots will reopen after construction ends. Updates will be shared as information is received.

Construction Progress Reports Available via Email
Design and Construction Services (DCS) introduced a new email bulletin to communicate the progress of the Student Success Center Project to the campus and neighboring communities. This email bulletin will be sent only to campus members that subscribe to this correspondence. It is meant to keep interested individuals informed of the pertinent activities on the PH2 construction site that could have an effect on immediate areas outside of the project boundary.
Examples of items that may be communicated weekly are:
- Current construction schedule
- Upcoming construction activities that may affect adjacent buildings
- Scheduled major deliveries
- Weekend, night or holiday work
- Parking closures
- Any other planned activities that could possibly affect the campus community
- Explanation of recent unforeseen or unplanned activities that caused an impact
An email will be sent once a week, scheduled for Fridays. The first email correspondence is scheduled for Friday, December 1, 2017. If you would like to subscribe to this weekly progress email, please email aaron.miank@csulb.edu with your request. Please note that DCS will continue to send campus wide emails reporting all major activities that will affect the campus at large. If you are only concerned with major activities, there is no need to subscribe to receive these more detailed progress updates.
Email updates will also be posted on the Design and Construction website under “Project Information and Updates.”
