Corporate Mentoring Program (CMP)

WHITE TIER ACHIEVEMENT (Award: Medallion)
  • The Corporate Mentoring Program (CMP) is for senior-level students or students in their last academic year (August 2024-April 2025).
  • Students are required to complete both an application and an interview, if requested.
  • Applications open in the Spring.
  • Interviews occur in the Spring/Summer.
  • Program acceptance occurs in the Summer.

The Corporate Mentoring Program (CMP) is an academic year (August-April) program where a senior-level student or students in their last academic year are paired with a mid to senior-level professional in a mentoring relationship. The mentoring is personalized, and the focus of the partnership is determined by a mutually agreed upon contract. The goals can vary and often result in tangible achievements in addition to soft skills development in areas such as self-awareness, professionalism, and self-confidence.

Students must meet the following requirements:

  • Senior Level Status or Last Academic Year (Spring/Summer/Fall 2025 graduate)
  • COB Major/Minor
  • GPA Requirement: 2.5
  • Complete the CMP Application
  • Submit a Headshot Photo and Resume
  • Attend an interview (if requested)

Accepted Students must complete the following requirements:

  • Attend an Orientation
  • Meet for a minimum of one hour per month
  • Turn in a completed Contract
  • Attend the Leadership Retreat
  • Attend the Networking Mixer
  • Attend the Awards Banquet

Occurs the first Friday of the fall semester. This event is for mentees only. The CMP Orientation covers what to expect, allows mentees to meet the other selected participants, and prepares mentees for the program commitment.

2024-2025 Cohort:

  • Option 1:
    • Date: Friday, August 30, 2024
    • Time: 10:00am-12:00pm
    • Location: In Person (COB Room TBD)
  • Option 2:
    • Date: Friday, August 30, 2024
    • Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm
    • Location: In Person (COB Room TBD)
  • ​Special Note: Only need to attend one of the two options provided above.

Occurs the first weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) after Labor Day in September. This 3-day, 2-night event is for mentees only. The Leadership Retreat brings mentors and recent alumni to serve as volunteers to help facilitate the weekend activities. Mentees will have indoor and outdoor experiential learning activities that encourage teamwork, self-awareness, leadership, trust, and communication skills that can be applied in both academic and work settings.

2024-2025 Cohort:

  • Date: Friday, September 6, 2024, Saturday, September 7, 2024, and Sunday, September 8, 2024
  • Time: All Day (for all three dates listed above)
  • Location: YMCA Camp Whittle
  • Special Notes: Transportation, accommodations, and meals will be provided. Excuse letters can be written to employers, if needed.

Occurs on the second Thursday of the spring semester. This evening event is for both mentees and mentors. The Mixer provides a setting to network with all CMP participants.

  • Date: Thursday, January 30, 2025
  • Time: 6:00pm-9:00pm
  • Location: In Person (TBD)

Occurs on a Thursday in April. This evening event marks the official conclusion of the Corporate Mentoring Program (CMP) and celebrates all the accomplishments of our CMP Mentees.

  • Time: 6:00pm-9:00pm
  • Location: In Person (TBD)

Applications for the 2024-2025 Cohort are open. Deadline to apply is 5/20/2024 at 11:55pm.
