Controller's Office
The Controller’s Office is responsible for accounting and tax reporting for three Business Units: The University, the Research Foundation, and the 49er Foundation (philanthropic activities).
Accounting services include preparing financial statements, processing accounts payable and non-student accounts receivables, coordinating internal and external audits, developing and maintaining relevant policies and procedures.
Tax reporting includes filing quarterly sales and use tax returns, assessing and reporting tax withholding for non-resident students, staff, and suppliers, and issuing annual 1099 Forms for federal and state reporting.
