Requirements
Lower Division: ECON  100, 101, ACCT 201, C/ST 200, and MATH 115. Students declaring Economics as a major in upper-division status may substitute ECON300 for ECON 101 and 100 with departmental consent.

Upper Division: ECON 310, 311, 380, and six additional upper division courses in economics of which at least two must be at the 400-level. The following courses may not be used to satisfy the elective requirement in economics: ECON 300, 303, 308, 309I, 495, and 499.Students may take up to two of the following courses in meeting the elective requirement in economics: ACCT 310, 410, FIN 300, 400, C E 406.

The department also requires a minimum of two courses outside of Economics (totaling six or more units). Students may take any upper division courses from the departments listed below, or any of the following lower division courses: ANTH 100; GEOG 100; HIST 131, 132; MATH 117, 122, 123, 224; POSC 201; PSY 100; S W 220; SOC 100.
 

Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics (2-2775)
The bachelor of arts in business economics provides students with the tools of economic analysis and their application in a business environment. The business economics major prepares students for a variety of careers in the private or public sector. Students completing this major will have a solid foundation in microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory, and quantitative methods. They will have also completed courses in international economics and business administration. The bachelors degree in business economics is excellent preparation for graduate study in economics, business administration, public administration and law.

Requirements:

Lower division:  ECON 100, 101, ACCT 201, and MATH 115 or MATH 122.

Upper division:  ECON 310, 311, and 380.  The major also requires the completion of six upper division courses, of which at least two must be at the 400 level, as follows:

    Group A, Business & Quantitative Economics (select at least 3 courses):  ECON 320, 333, 355, 403, 420, 422, 430, 432, 433, 434, 441, 463, 481, 486.

    Group B, International Economics (select at least 1 course):   ECON 365, 368, 369, 370, 372, 465, 472.

    Group C, Business Administration (select at least 1 course):   ACCT 310, CBA 300, FIN 324, FIN 300, HRM 360, MGMT 300, MKTG 300.

The remaining elective (for a total of 6 electives) may be selected from Groups A, B, or C, or any other upper division course in economics except ECON 300, 308, 309I, 495, and 499.
