Parking Enforcement
Campus Parking Regulations
Please adhere to all rules and regulations posted on university signage throughout campus to avoid being issued a citation. A virtual permit is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, when parking on campus. Physical permits are no longer issued.
If you have received a parking citation you may pay it online. If you feel you were cited in error, you have the option to appeal the citation online within 21 days from the date it was issued.
License Plate Recognition (LPR) and Virtual Permitting:
As of Fall 2016 California State University Long Beach uses LPR and virtual permits on campus at all times. Plastic hangtags and paper permits are no longer needed as your license plate now functions as your valid parking permit.
For more information about LPR please visit the LPR FAQ page.
Please visit the Parking and Transportation Services website for more information on parking rates, lot maps, special event parking, planned contruction, and other general information.
Overflow Parking Procedures:
During the first few weeks of the Fall/Spring semesters our campus experiences peak demand for parking by students, faculty and staff. In an effort to help everyone find a vacant space, parking enforcement opens up designated overflow parking areas on the east and west side of campus. These locations are labeled with signage and are staffed by an officer who provides permission to park in the assigned location.
If there is not a parking officer present to direct vehicles at the time you arrive, parking in the overflow area is prohibited.
