Dr. Aparicio (she/her/ella) is the Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research Services (OURS). She joined CSULB in 2013 with the inaugural Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) and returned in 2020 as Director of OURS. Her research interests focus on the role of undergraduate research on degree aspirations for diverse college students at an earlier time point in their academic pathways, as well as undergraduate research and high-impact practices as a catalyst for retention, sense of belonging, habits of mind, student self-efficacy, and college access and success.

Dr. Aparicio is a first-generation transfer student who earned her A.A. degree in English from Cerritos College. Dr. Aparicio graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in Literatures in English, California State University, Long Beach with a master’s degree in Counseling: Student Development in Higher Education, and she received her Ph.D. in Higher Education from The Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Aparicio was selected by the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities to be a part of the inaugural cohort of its Enlace Mid-level Leadership Program.
