Overflow Parking - Fall 2024

Location: Cottonwood Church (Lots 6B & 6C), 4505 Katella Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720 (5 miles from campus)

A limited number of permits will be made available on a first come, first served basis starting 8/1/2024 via the Online Parking Portal.

• Overflow permits will function as regular semester permits after 8 weeks

NOTE: Permits are required to park in the offsite parking area and Overflow Permit stickers will be required to board the shuttles.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Frequency:  Every 15 minutes

Shuttles will depart from the Cottonwood Church parking lot starting at 7:30 a.m. and every 15 minutes thereafter (ex. 7:45, 8:00, 8:15, 8:30, etc.). The last shuttle will depart from campus to the Overflow Lot at 5:30 p.m.

Overflow Permits are required at all times when parking in the off-site parking lot. Parking on campus Monday-Thursday is STRICTLY PROHIBITED from Aug. 26-Oct. 17, 2024. Overflow permits are valid on campus every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. After Oct. 17. 2024, Overflow Permits will be valid on campus seven days a week and will function as regular student semester permits until they expire on Jan 19, 2025.

*After 10/17/2024, the Overflow Parking lot will close, and all overflow permits will function as regular semester parking permits. Permit holders will be able to park on campus, seven days a week, in any area available to the regular Student Permit.

The Overflow Permit is available to CSULB students only.

Additionally, the permit is designed for those students who have daytime class schedules that begin after 8 a.m. and finish before 5 p.m. as these are the times of peak traffic on campus and when we most need to create the additional parking capacity the Overflow Lot provides. 

The last shuttle departs from campus to the Overflow Lot at 5 p.m. If you have classes after this time (Monday-Thursday), we recommend that you purchase a regular Student Semester parking permit and do not purchase the Overflow Lot permit.

Permit recipients will be required to display an Overflow Permit sticker affixed to their campus ID in order to board campus shuttles to/from the Overflow Lot location.

You can pick up your sticker at the Parking Office or the Visitor Information Center during normal business hours starting on 8/1/2024. They will also be available in the Overflow Parking Lot during the first week of its operation, 8/26-8/29/2024.
